Long days and nights in the desert will do funny things to a man

Default Raptor R build

Hey we built the Raptor R that we raced in the Baja 1000 at our shop here in Gilbert Arizona. That project was a blast for sure..... Let me know if anyone wants another one built we have lots of notes on it...... Live large and go race.... We could do full class 8 Raptor or a Stock Full version.... Check out our site I posted pictures there of the entire build process for you to see. www.FoutzMotorsports.com

Default I forgot...

I forgot to mention that the Ford guys in conjunction with the guys that made the documentary movie called "Chasing Baja" shot video of the build and entire Baja 1000 race stuff. They will have a one hour show that I hear will be on SPEED (unconfirmed) and then they will release a 2 hour DVD too. Bud Brutsman who runs the show at the production company also drove a leg of the race with us in the Raptor R down there. It was cool..... When I hear about release times and dates I can try to post something.

i cant wait for that documentary! ive watched 'two roads to baja'(also on speed) and 'dust to glory' and both shows were a great look at the race as well as some of the preperation involved.

I read somewhere (probably here haha) that the R had special camshafts, headers, and
a more aggresive tune and that those special parts might find their way into frp catalog one day. Anyone know anymore about it? Will these parts ever be added to the option list when ordering a raptor form the factory?

they will not be factory options, but special tuning parts will be available either through frpp or other aftermarket companies.

Well I at least hope Ford gives us a decent bottom end on the 6.2s to work with.

ford will build the engine up to their standards(regulatory, reliability, and durability) nothing more. no dont look for this engine to be good up to 1000hp with stock internals. ford does not have to make it livable for a 600rwhp dunes toy. if you do want this type of power be prepared to spend some coin to make it last.

you could also get yourself a 100k sand rail instead?

but make no mistake this 6.2 is one hell of an engine. and from what i have been reading it will not be hard to make big power, even without forced injection!
